"Chicago is full of defectives," Dr. Haiselden concluded. "The average physician today saves imbeciles at birth. This adds to the crime waves of the city's future. There will be a great awakening some day which will result in the enactment of laws providing for the sterilization of the criminal and the lunatic, and possibly for the painless death of the hopelessly insane."

Dr. Haiselden is a graduate of the Chicago medical department of the University of Illinois. He resided at the German hospital for three and a half years, where he was under the famous Dr. Christian Fenger.
